Faith that Works: The Problem With Making Our Own Plans... (James 4:1-5:12)

SOAP: Proverbs 8:13

The way we look at the world, determines the way we live in the world.

We can be rooted in our own perspectives, or we can be rooted in God's perspectives but we have to choose.

James calls us to avoid worldly thinking (James 4:13-5:6)

James calls us to practice patience in the face of suffering. (James 5:7-12)

James 4:13-17

We'll go where we like

We'll go when we like

We'll do what we like.

James 5:1-12

Keep your eyes on the Lord's Coming.

Take Aways:

     1. Keep God at the center of your plans

     2. Don't use people to further your plans

     3. God sees it all - so act with integrity

     4. Learn to walk patiently

Walk Patiently:

    1. Stand Firm

     2. Look Up

     3. Stand Together

     4. God's Got This and God's Got You

     5. Stay Single-hearted.

May God enable all of us to live honestly, hopefully and intentionally for His Glory and His Grace.
